O God, who raised up Saint Ignatius of Loyola in your Church to further the greater glory of your name,
– Ignatius in particular was converted from seeking glory in this life to seeking the glory of God as a kind of knight errant, so we acknowledge and praise God for that.

grant that by his help we may imitate him in fighting the good fight on earth and merit to receive with him a crown in heaven.

– Thus, we ask to follow his example of zeal so as to gain the same reward.

Questions & Advice: What does the glory of God mean in your life? How many of your daydreams center around worldly glory instead of sanctity?

Read about hallowing God’s name and glorifying him in the Catechism (2807-15). Spend some of your daily prayer time reflecting on what really motivates you from day to day. Pray for the grace to dive more deeply into God’s plan for you.

Sancte Ignati, ora pro nobis!
